We’ve asked our young artists to tell us a little more about their work…

What was your personal idea behind the painting? What did you want to show or say with the painting?
I wanted to express the festive atmosphere and showcase good luck and fortune with my painting.

Why did you choose these particular objects, colours, shapes and patterns?
I chose to paint Koi fish as in Feng Shui they symbolize good luck, abundance and perseverance.

How did you feel as you were creating this painting?
I enjoyed mixing the different colours together to create colours that are as similar to the real colours as possible. It was a new challenge for me to create paintings that look ‘alive’.
